forevr exists to keep the memory of people you love. We take the protection of your personal data seriously, and that of the people whose memory you honour. This policy sets out what we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have.

2. What we collect

We collect the following:

• Account details: first and last name, email address, profile picture, passed on by our authentication provider, Clerk.
• Memorial content: the names and dates of the people honoured, biographies, photos, videos, audio recordings, messages and tributes you publish.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed and activity logs, needed to run and secure the service.
• Support conversations: whatever is said through our chat (Crisp).

3. What we use it for

Your data is used to:

• run and maintain forevr;
• let you create, share and preserve the memorials of people you love;
• manage who administers and who is invited to each memorial;
• keep the service secure, prevent fraud and fix incidents;
• answer you through support.

4. Legal basis

We process your data to perform the contract between us when you use forevr, on your consent for certain optional features, and on our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and alive.

5. Hosting and processors

To run forevr we rely on carefully chosen processors:

• Clerk, for authentication and accounts;
• MongoDB Atlas, for structured data;
• Amazon Web Services (S3), for media hosting (photos, videos, audio);
• Vercel, for application hosting;
• Crisp, for support chat;
• Stripe, for payments;
• Brevo, for sending emails;
• Sentry, for technical error reporting (data hosted in the European Union, with no personal content).

Your data and your media are hosted in the European Union. Each of these providers applies security measures that meet industry standards.

6. How long we keep it

Your data and everything you publish are kept for as long as your account exists or the memorial does. You can ask us at any time to delete a memorial or your account. Some data may be kept longer to meet our legal obligations or for security reasons.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict, object to and port your data. You can exercise those rights by contacting us through support chat or by email. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority — in France the CNIL, and in any other EU or EEA country the authority for the place where you live.

8. Cookies

forevr only uses cookies that are strictly necessary to run the service (authentication, security), plus the cookies set by our support chat, Crisp, when you use it.

9. Security

We put technical and organisational measures in place to protect your data from unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure: encryption in transit, restricted access to data, audit logs, and hosting on infrastructure we trust.

10. Changes

This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the service or to the law. We'll tell you about anything significant.
