Eulogy template

Writing a eulogy almost always happens in bad conditions: without sleep, between appointments, a few hours before the service. This tool exists to clear the blank page.

Five questions — who they were to you, their name, what they were like, one memory, what they leave you — and you receive a three-minute text by email, structured and ready to rework. It adapts to the relationship: you do not speak about your mother the way you speak about a colleague.

Perguntas frequentes

How long should a eulogy be?

Three minutes, four at the very most — around 400 to 500 words, one page. A grieving room loses attention quickly, several people often speak on the same day, and a short text forces you to choose what actually matters. The tool aims at that length and tells you the reading time aloud.

How do you structure a eulogy?

An opening that says who you are and who you are speaking for, a portrait in two or three traits, one specific memory that shows them, what they leave you, then the farewell. That is the shape the tool builds — and the specific memory is the part people will remember.

Is this written by artificial intelligence?

No. Every sentence comes from a template written by hand, and what you type is copied exactly, never rewritten. Nothing is invented about the person who died: a text read over a coffin cannot contain an approximation.

Can I read this text as it is?

It is a draft, not a finished speech. It clears the blank page and gives you the right rhythm and length. Put it in your own words: those are what people came to hear, and a copied text can be heard as one.

What if I can't think of a memory?

Leave the field empty — the text stays coherent, just shorter. But look first at the tiny things: a habit, a repeated phrase, a gesture. The eulogies people remember almost never tell a grand story.
